
A brief history
The University of Auckland, situated in New Zealand, was established on May 23, 1883, as Auckland University College. It originally formed a part of the University of New Zealand. The university’s inception was marked by an Act of Parliament, and it was officially inaugurated on May 21, 1883, at the Choral Hall, which was then Auckland’s largest hall. Following the dissolution of the University of New Zealand in 1961, the University of Auckland Act 1961 granted authority to the University of Auckland. The university is located in New Zealand and boasts an urban campus spanning 40 acres.
