
A brief history
CentraleSupélec, a prestigious institution in France, has a rich history of educational excellence and technological innovation. The school is the result of the merger of two renowned engineering schools, École Centrale Paris and Supélec, which brought together their strengths to create a unified institution that stands at the forefront of engineering education and research. Founded in 1829, École Centrale Paris was one of the first engineering schools in France. It was established with the vision of providing a comprehensive education in engineering sciences, mathematics, and natural sciences. Supélec, officially known as École supérieure d’électricité, was founded in 1894. It specialized in electrical engineering and quickly gained recognition for its contributions to the field of electrical sciences. In 2015, École Centrale Paris and Supélec merged to create CentraleSupélec, combining their expertise and resources. This merger aimed to enhance the institution’s capacity for cutting-edge research and multidisciplinary education.
