
A brief history
The origins of Tokyo Tech trace back to 1881 when the Tokyo Vocational School was established to provide education in engineering and technology. In 1901, the school was renamed the Tokyo Higher Technical School, offering specialized programs in engineering and applied sciences. In 1949, the university was officially reestablished as the Tokyo Institute of Technology under the new education system established by the Japanese government.Tokyo Tech continued to expand its research and academic programs, focusing on science, engineering, and technology disciplines.
