TUM does not directly offer accommodation but supports students and staff in their housing search through personal advice, in-house listings, and helpful information. TUM Living provides commission-free housing options exclusively for TUM students and employees.

Many TUM students and employees opt for private accommodation, often sharing flats (known as WGs in German). Private housing is the most common choice among TUM students.

The TUM Global & Alumni Office assists international exchange students with accommodation. Dormitory places come furnished with essentials and wired Internet connection (no Wi-Fi).

TUM offers courses in both German and English. Certain degree programs are conducted entirely in English. The language of instruction depends on the program, and international applicants need to demonstrate language proficiency.
